02.Oct.2009 The Fest releases Schedule - Lazaroc

I suppose its a sad day for America with the news that the 2016 Olympics will be taking place in Rio instead of Chicago. However, on somewhat of the same scale of events Gainesville’s own “The Fest” released its Schedule today to ease your woes.

The annual festival which takes place Halloween/Florida/Georgia weekend – October 30th, 31st, and November 1st, is in its 8th year. This year seems to be no different than the past 7 as everyone “irrelevant” leaves to Jacksonville for a weekend of sex, drugs, and football, thousands of hipsters, punks, and indie kids head to Gainesville for sex, drugs, and rock n roll. This is pretty much the most music Gainesville will see all year with artists in genres ranging from hardcore, punk, ska, and indie.

The line up features Strike Anywhere, Kevin Seconds, Gainesville hometown heros Less Thank Jake, and Dillinger Four to name a few. The rest of the line up goes on for days, 3 of them to be exact and can be yours for $60 advance and $80 weekend of. If you’re willing to put in some time volunteering you’ll get hooked up with a weekend pass and special t-shirt, all information on volunteering can be found on The Fest Website
