Miami native Panic Bomber will be dazzling crowds all week long and along side some of electro’s biggest names. After cleaning up at SXSW last week, Panic Bomber will be taking the stage with names like Designer Drugs and Toxic Avenger further cements Panic Bomber as one of the must see acts of WMC 2010.

We were lucky enough to have Panic Bomber at Common Grounds in January, and now for any of you who missed it, here’s your chance to see Panic Bomber in its natural habitat. With the release of their latest EP Discipline, its clear that there is no end to the dancing in sight. Here is the teaser for the new album and video, as well as a clip from the show at Common Grounds.

Calvin Harris is no stranger to disco, in fact, he created it!

Over the past couple of years, Calvin Harris has seen his brand do nothing but grow at an exponential rate. His breakout hit “Girls” rocked summer of 2007 and since “I Created Disco,” has released his sophomore album “Ready For The Weekend.”

Ultra Phase 2 and Bonnaroo Music Festival

Ultra Music Festival has released its phase 2 line up according to Festival Outlook. It appears that “Orbital, Damian Marley & Nas, David Guetta, Little Boots, Fake Blood, Sasha & Digweed, Benny Benassi, Pendulum, Calvin Harris” will be joining the already stacked line up of performers and Dj’s for the weekend debauchery. The Official Ultra website has yet to release an image of the final flyer but I’m sure it will make it difficult to choose only attending one day.

In other festival news, Bonnaroo released its line up slowly yesterday via myspace and twitter. This unorthodox line-up release has stirred up mixed feelings from fans. People just want to know who’s playing and generating all this hype on the internet is the last thing people want but exactly what happened. The initial line-up release looks something like this.

Dave Matthews Band, Kings of Leon, Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z, Tenacious D, Weezer, The Flaming Lips with Stardeath and White Dwarfs perform “Dark Side of the Moon,” The Dead Weather, Damian Marley and Nas, Phoenix, Norah Jones, Michael Franti and Spearhead, John Fogerty, Regina Spektor, Jimmy Cliff, LCD Soundsystem, The Avett Brothers, Thievery Corporation, Rise Against, Tori Amos, The National, Zac Brown Band, Les Claypool, Bassnectar, Kid Cudi, The xx, GWAR, Dan Deacon Ensemble, Deadmau5, and many many more!

Festive Florida Festival Friday

Florida doesn’t necessarily get the best festivals, and then again we most definitely don’t get the worst. Its some sort of middle ground where you end up most of the time getting exactly what you pay for. This week alone there has been plenty announcements regarding line ups for spring festivals. With that being said there are plenty of small and big events to look forward to this season. Lets take a look chronologically to see who and what is coming to the sunshine state.

This weekend in Brooksville (somewhere north of tampa but south of gville) is Aura Music Festival. Headlining the festival is Brother Bean and Malah, these are the only two acts that I have ever seen before so I’m taking it that this will be a very youthful jam based festival with a few dj’s to keep the party going once one becomes tired of hearing the same chord and solo progressions for hours on end. The event will take place at Sertoma Youth Ranch in Brooksville, FL, a beautiful 85-acre piece of land, just off I-75, and central to the state of Florida. Assuming that the weather stays as perfect as it was today this could turn out to be a great way to get outside and do something with the weekend even if you’re on a budget. Next up on the list is the second annual Harvest of Hope Festival. Takes place at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds in St. Augustine March 12th – 14th. Usually has a focus on more punk/ska/core acts and the line up was just released this week. Last year the festival had headliners such as Less Than Jake, Girl Talk, Bad Brains, Health, and KRS One. They offer camping over the weekend but by the end of the festival last year it was looking more like a war zone than a cozy campground. Tickets for the weekend are on the cheap in comparison to other larger festivals. The The line up this year is looking like this

Later on in the month of March is Ultra Music Festival in MIami. We have already mentioned their line up but just to kinda reinforce how awesome of time is to be had for electronic music enthusiasts here it is again. Tickets right now are already running up to $160(taxes and fees included) for both days. Thats not even including expenses day of show and figuring out your lodging arrangements for the weekend. Now would be a good time to actually start making an attempt to be friends with people from Miami. No joke, this festival will be mainstream as hell, but it will also have just about every act you could ask for.

Wanee Festival takes place in April and is close to home in Live Oak. It features a variety of jam/funk/roots based acts and brings wookies and bros from all over to call Spirit of the Suwanee Music Park home for the weekend. I have never been to an event here but from friends it sounds like they have always enjoyed themselves and met some cool people. The line up just came out this morning and it looks like a hippy-wet-dream.

As always, the New year brings in a bunch of new events to look forward to. Whether its your mom’s birthday or your favorite music festival, a new year means you’ll get to experience both all over again. For those of us with the itch, this means that we will be planning our spring break to coincide with The Winter Music Conference and Ultra Music Festival. You know, that time of the year when anyone who is anybody in electronic music decides that its a good time to hang out in Miami for the week.

So do the smart thing and purchase your tickets for the festival or any other parties you plan on attending asap to avoid paying/scalping them day of show. Yeah i know it might seem unauthentic or a waste of money to actually pay to see the biggest names in guido-trance but once you’ve had the experience, seen the people, heard the speaker rigs that tower your parents’ house, and kicked it to the biggest names in the industry, you won’t be upset.
