There’s also news of Tim Tebow starring in a pro-life ad during the Super Bowl for “Focus on the Family.”

It’s interesting these two stories came out simultaneously. After doing some research, we found some interesting information on Focus on the Family. While abortion is a totally different topic, Focus on the Family has been known to preach radical anti-gay speech, including (according to the Miami New-Times and Wikipedia):

• Mailed out a shameless fictious “Letter from 2012 in Obama’s America” that claimed terrorists would strike four US cities, that the Supreme Court would force the Boy Scouts of America to “hire homosexual scoutmasters and allow them to sleep in tents with young boys,” and preventing people over 80 from going to hospitals amongst other ridiculous claims.
• Founded the Love Won Out ministries which purports to turn gays straight using potentially harmful methods that have been criticized by most mainstream psychologists and medical experts.
• Additionally, Focus on the Family has been charged with manipulating research to support their stance on homosexuality.

Gainesville is gay, and Timmy’s doing something about it. I feel like Tim Tebow is thinking big picture. By supporting an anti-gay organization under the guise of pro-life, he not only comes across as a saint, but he also is helping the organization receive tens of thousands of dollars in donations thanks to his personal brand name, allowing the organization to push its agenda harder and more effectively. Essentially, he’s contributing to the hate of thousands of homosexuals across the country for an extended period of time. Brilliant.

Tim Tebow has never been shy about his faith and convictions, but do you think he has taken the time to really discover how little we know about each other?

In a recent interview with Urban Meyer and Tim Tebow, Meyer mentioned that he would like to see either Tebow or Ryan Stamper succeed him as coach of the Florida Gators in the future. Obviously this is not guaranteed to happen, but Tebow did say that he’s open minded about it.
