Urban Meyer Steps Down From Coaching Gators

Urban Meyer is stepping down as coach of the Florida football team, athletics director Jeremy Foley announced Saturday afternoon in a release.

“I have given my heart and soul to coaching college football and mentoring young men for the last 24-plus years and I have dedicated most of my waking moments the last five years to the Gator football program,” Meyer said in statement. “I have ignored my health for years, but recent developments have forced me to re-evaluate my priorities of faith and family.”

All I can say is I’m glad I got to see some championships before I graduate.

Tebow May Be Future Gator Coach

In a recent interview with Urban Meyer and Tim Tebow, Meyer mentioned that he would like to see either Tebow or Ryan Stamper succeed him as coach of the Florida Gators in the future. Obviously this is not guaranteed to happen, but Tebow did say that he’s open minded about it.

After a week long extravaganza of homecoming parties, parades, Gator Growl, Football, and more parties, The first week of Bowl Championship Series rankings have been determined with none other than The Florida Gators on top!

The Gators pulled out a close win Saturday against Arkansas with a 23-20 victory. This has many gator fans worried about the ability of Florida offense to keep their head in the game and hands on the ball. There are even more Gator Haters complaining about Florida’s “weak” schedule and overrated standing. Regardless, The Florida Gators are currently sitting on top of the BCS and anxiously awaiting trips to Atlanta and Pasadena
