On Saturday, August 6th, EDM promoter HARD unleashed a beast of a Concert (not a rave) on to the streets of downtown Los Angeles.
The event took place at The LA Historic State Park and raged from the beginning till the very end. Opening sets from Dillon Francis and Gaslamp Killer had the crowd thirsty for bangers and bass. Some of the highlights on the main stage were performances from Odd Future, RATATAT, Chromeo, Duck Sauce, and Boys Noize.
Four stages offered event goers a plethora of dance music to choose from. The HARDER stage featured a great line up of djs like Skrillex, Nero, Noisa, and Siriusmo. While the DFA Disco Tent rocked out with Holy Ghost, Pat Mahoney, and James Murphy.
Heard a ton of new music, new remixes, and some old favorites. If you get a chance to check out the HARD Summer Tour do so. And if you have some $$$$ in the bank put your deposit down on HARD Holy Ship cruising out of Ft. Lauderdale in January.
All Video Credits to Glenn Jamn, check out his site for other sweet vids of your favorite djs
Moombahton all day, Moombahton all night. Lately Moombahton has got me feelin’ all right. Billy the Gent and Cam Jus murdered the decks last night at Velvet Lounge for their monthly TROPIXXX party. Missed it? I’m terribly sorry. Oh wait- what’s that? You were there? Yeah, the perpetual dancing from last night has my memory banks jarred, too. Refresh your memory by scoping out the pics on our facebook page.
With Summer swinging into full effect, and Will Newton some how becoming the biggest contributor to the blog I found it necessary to update ya’ll with whats good on the West Coast.Sunday, known as the day of rest to many, is known as the day of rage to many others. Day time parties such as “The Do-Over” have established that people here in the lovely city of Los Angeles are ready to party, and party hard. “Sunday Funday” has always been an institution amongst the bars/restaurants of Gainesville, but the beat of LA has taken it to new heights.

“The Get Up” had its first of what will hopefully be many Sunday Parties. You got to get down to get up, right? Highlights marked The Cool Haus Icecream Sandwich food truck and many other tasty options for the Early Brunch Crowd. Jams provided by many djs including Dim Maks own Them Jeans. The event had a few non-profits raising awareness for peace in the Congo, Breast Cancer, and healing trauma through music and art. An overall feel good experience, and plenty of entertainment.

The double header of a Sunday was followed up with the fourth of The Disco Dive Pool Party series at The Standard Hotel DTLA. As always the party at The Standard didn’t disappoint. The sun was shinning as the bathing suits came out and bodies crowded the rooftop pool as Ed Gold got the party bouncing. There was plenty space to layout on the AstroTurf lawn or on the over sized couches when the dancing became a bit tiring. I have to give credit to my boy Conor for going hard and Rollingtuff. Think my highlight of the afternoon was watching and hearing the lovely ladies of POSSO, Vanessa Giovacchini & Marylouise Pels, play a great set and look great while doing it.
Thats really all I have till this upcoming weekend, more rooftop parties, sunshine, and good times. Hope you’re enjoying your summer and anxiously awaiting the return of Florida Tailgate season.

Have you ever danced on the top of a 14 story hotel balcony pool with beautiful people and sexy moombeats? If not, I strongly suggest you get familiar with it. Moombahton isn’t slowing down, and intimate gigs like this are adding fuel to the moombahfire.
DJs OBEYAH and Billy the Gent bumped some sick jams while all present got their groove on. Heineken girls in white bikinis made their rounds giving out free Heineken Lights. The crowd was grown and sexy, and everybody was fun and friendly, so much that an impromptu vollyball game resulted when the inflatable beach balls were introduced. Then all hell broke loose (and I screamed like a little girl) when Dave Nada made a special guest appearance and made love to our ears.

Check out some of the flicks I snagged while I wasn’t too busy getting my jam on:
