13.Oct.2009 Bourbon Street – In Review - Lazaroc
After taking all of Monday to relax and rest up, I am now ready to talk about what I witnessed on the streets of New Orleans. Close your eyes and imagine University Avenue from 13th St to Main St. Now put bars and clubs on both sides, alcohol vendors, and thousands of college kids and you have Bourbon Street.

Everywhere you looked were signs of drink specials and advertisements of Hand Grenades, Huge Ass Beers, and Jesters. Multiple locations of the same bars and clubs threw off drunken students ability to meet up via txt as street numbers were the smart way to give your location. The Streets were packed! Everywhere you went on bourbon street you would see friends, classmates, strippers, hustling shot girls, nipples, Elvis, and beads. Here is a little vid captured from the Weekend. Youtube’s terms and agreements won’t allow me post the other vids … sorry ![]()
I feel like Bourbon Street is one of those places that has been given so much hype over time that I wasn’t sure if it was going to meet my expectations. People weren’t overstating their love for it and the city of New Orleans. Over the weekend I met handfuls of genuine and sincere people who were more than hospitable. Its a place where bars close at 5:30 am just to open back up at 6:00 am if they close at all. The vibe is care free and no one is trying to be something they’re not, everyone is just having fun.
