04.Jun.2010 Around Town – Halfway Through Summer A - Shaan

You can catch us spinning at the Costa Lounge’s Lingerie Party tonight, and at The Vault on Saturday. Summer A is always slow, but we’ve done the best we could finding out what’s happening around town this week.
- UF student fees may rise by 25%. I guess Hume Hall needs more giant shitty boulders placed outside of it.
- How to recognize and combat the Freshman 15. I hope you conquer it before Summer B.
- UF’s Ultimate Frisbee team takes national championship, proving once and for all UF bros harder than any other school.
- Hipsters are no longer supporting PBR. Someone should let Spannk and The Atlantic know they’re gonna need some new drink specials.
- From Miami With Love – gonna be one of the biggest parties thrown this summer, featuring yours truly. Mark down June 11th.
- The Artisans’ Guild Gallery is open at Santa Fe college. Feel classy after vomming all over Midtown the night before by checking out some free art the day after.
- Tired of the 2am curfew in Gainesville? Follow this group for updates on changing the local legislation for “soft” closing times.
- The top mugshot this week. I heard a rumor Kanye will be rocking the same haircut for the MTV awards.
- Stay up to date with Gainesville’s House music scene by following the Summer House Sessions.
- “New Low” is an independent movie that was filmed in Gainesville, and is going to be shown at Sundance. Maybe you can see yourself in the background somewhere. Catch the trailer here.
As for new tunes, check out the new Major Lazer and La Roux mixtape, Lazerproof.
What are you up to this weekend?
Are you excited to see us rocking nothing but our silk boxers tonight?
What do you think of Lazerproof?
